When several teeth are broken, worn down, missing, or aching at the same time, it can be hard to know where to begin. Maybe you've been patching one problem at a time for years, or you've started avoiding certain foods because chewing hurts. Full mouth reconstruction is our answer to that bigger picture: a planned sequence of treatments that rebuilds the health, function, and appearance of your entire bite rather than chasing one tooth at a time.

Full mouth reconstruction — also called full mouth rehabilitation — combines restorative, periodontal, surgical, and cosmetic dentistry into a single coordinated plan. Depending on what we find, that plan might include crowns, bridges, onlays, porcelain or composite veneers, root canal therapy, extractions, bone grafting or sinus lift surgery, dental implants, implant-supported bridges, or complete and partial dentures. Gum disease treatment, scaling and root planing, gum grafting, and crown lengthening often come first, because healthy foundations have to be in place before anything is rebuilt on top of them.

The people we help with this treatment vary widely. Some have advanced wear from years of grinding and need both restorations and a night guard to protect the result. Others have lost multiple teeth and are weighing full arch dental implants, All-on-4, Teeth In A Day, or implant-supported dentures. Some come to us with jaw pain, clicking, or limited movement, and TMJ/TMD therapy becomes part of the plan so the new bite is comfortable and stable. We see patients of all ages from Ocala, Belleview, Silver Springs, The Villages, Summerfield, Dunnellon, Lady Lake, and the surrounding Marion County communities, and no referral is needed to start.

The first visit is about information, not drilling. We perform a thorough dental exam, imaging, an oral cancer screening, and a careful look at your gums, existing restorations, bite, and jaw joints. We talk through what bothers you most — appearance, comfort, chewing, or all three — because that shapes the order of treatment. From there we build a written plan with phases, so you always know what comes next and why.

Good candidates should know a few practical things before committing:

  • Treatment usually happens in stages over several appointments, with urgent and infection-related care handled first.
  • Our on-site dental lab lets us make and adjust crowns, dentures, and denture repairs here, which shortens waiting and makes fine-tuning easier.
  • Sedation options including nitrous oxide and oral sedation are available for longer or more involved visits.
  • Healing time matters — bone grafting and implant placement require months of integration before final restorations go on.
  • Existing habits like clenching, smoking, or skipping cleanings affect how long the results last.

How Treatment Unfolds

Most reconstructions begin with stabilizing the mouth: treating gum disease, performing root canal therapy on salvageable teeth, and removing teeth that can't be saved through simple or surgical extraction, including wisdom teeth when needed. If implants are part of the plan, grafting or a sinus lift may be scheduled to rebuild bone volume. Throughout this phase, temporary restorations keep you comfortable and presentable.

The rebuilding phase restores shape and function. This is where crowns, bridges, implant-supported bridges, dentures, or veneers come in, designed around a bite that distributes force evenly. For patients focused on appearance, cosmetic smile-design consultations, gum contouring, and in-office or take-home whitening of natural teeth can be worked into the sequence. Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris handle the general, restorative, surgical, and cosmetic components here, and emergency appointments are available if something breaks or flares up mid-treatment.

Aftercare and Keeping Your Results

Once the final restorations are placed, maintenance becomes the job. We schedule regular cleanings and dental exams, periodontal maintenance for patients with a history of gum disease, and implant maintenance checks for anyone with implants. Our hygienist will show you how to clean around bridges, implants, and dentures, since those areas need slightly different technique than natural teeth.

A custom night guard is often recommended to protect new restorations from grinding, and sports mouth guards are available for active patients. Dentures can be relined, adjusted, or repaired in our lab, frequently without a long wait. If anything feels high, loose, or sore, we'd rather see you early than have a small issue become a larger one.

Insurance, Payment, and Getting Started

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practice, which simplifies billing when a plan covers several specialties' worth of care. Self-pay and cash patients are welcome, and flexible payment plans can spread larger treatment across a timeline that works for your budget.

We've cared for Ocala families for more than 30 years, and we'd be glad to sit down, look at what's going on, and map out a realistic path forward. Call us to schedule your consultation.
