Four precisely placed dental implants can support a full arch of fixed teeth — that is the idea behind All-on-4, the full-arch implant option we provide here in Ocala. Instead of replacing every missing tooth with its own implant, we angle the back implants to take advantage of the denser bone you already have, then secure a complete bridge on top. For people who have lost most or all of their teeth in an arch, or who are facing the removal of teeth that can no longer be saved, it is a way to go from a failing or missing dentition to a stable, fixed set of teeth.
All-on-X is the broader name for full-arch implant treatment, where "X" stands for the number of implants used to support a single arch. Our practice specifically offers the All-on-4 approach, which uses four implants per arch as the foundation for a fixed bridge. Because the teeth are anchored to the implants rather than resting on the gums, they do not rock, slip, or require adhesive, and they let you bite and chew with far more confidence than a conventional removable denture.
We see this treatment help several very different situations. Some patients have worn complete dentures for years and are tired of the looseness and sore spots. Others still have teeth, but widespread gum disease, decay, or old failing restorations have made tooth-by-tooth repair impractical. Still others have been told they do not have enough bone for traditional implants and assumed nothing could be done. Because the angled placement used in All-on-4 often makes better use of existing bone, many people who were previously discouraged turn out to be candidates. And when additional support is needed, we also perform bone grafting and sinus lift surgery in our office.
Candidacy starts with a thorough conversation and examination. We look at your remaining teeth, the health of your gums, your bone volume, how your jaw joints function, and what you want your smile and your bite to feel like day to day. If you have an untreated gum infection or a TMJ concern, we address it as part of the plan — our office treats gum disease, performs periodontal and surgical procedures, and provides TMJ/TMD therapy, so these pieces do not have to be coordinated across multiple offices. We also accept patients without a referral.
It helps to know going in that full-arch implant treatment is a process, not a single appointment. Teeth that cannot be saved are removed, implants are placed, and a provisional bridge is often attached so you are not without teeth. Our on-site dental lab is a real advantage here, because fabrication and adjustments happen under our own roof rather than being shipped out and waited on. For patients who feel anxious about surgery, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation dentistry.
Here is what we encourage every patient to weigh before committing:
- Whether any remaining teeth are restorable with crowns, root canals, or periodontal treatment instead
- How much bone is present and whether grafting or a sinus lift is recommended first
- Your tolerance for a staged timeline that includes healing between phases
- How habits like nighttime grinding may affect your result, and whether a night guard is advisable
- How All-on-4 compares to alternatives we also provide, such as implant-supported dentures, snap-in dentures, implant-supported bridges, or conventional complete and partial dentures
Aftercare and Long-Term Results
After implants are placed, the bone needs time to integrate around them, and during that healing period we ask you to favor softer foods and follow specific hygiene instructions. We will see you for follow-up visits to check healing, adjust your bite, and move you toward your final restoration when the timing is right.
Long term, a fixed full arch is cared for much like natural teeth: daily cleaning around and beneath the bridge, plus regular professional visits. Our hygienist provides implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance so the tissue around your implants stays healthy, and if anything ever needs repair or adjustment, our lab is right here. We also keep emergency and same-day appointments available, which matters when something unexpected comes up.
Insurance, Payment, and Getting Started
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practice. We also welcome self-pay patients and offer flexible payment plans, so the investment can be spread out rather than handled all at once. We will review your estimate in plain terms before treatment begins.
