Maybe it started with one loose tooth, then another. Or years of patching things up with crowns, partials, and a denture that never quite fit the way it did at first. By the time someone sits down with us to talk about full mouth dental implants, they're usually tired of working around their teeth — avoiding steak and apples, speaking carefully in meetings, reaching for adhesive before leaving the house. If that sounds familiar, you're in good company, and there's a straightforward path forward.
Full mouth dental implants replace an entire arch of teeth — upper, lower, or both — using small titanium posts placed in the jawbone that act as roots for a fixed or securely anchored set of teeth. Rather than resting on the gums the way a conventional denture does, the new teeth are supported by the bone itself. That difference is what people notice most: stability when biting, confidence when speaking, and no dependence on adhesives.
We provide this care in several forms depending on what your mouth needs, including All-on-4 dental implants, full arch dental implants, implant-supported dentures, implant-supported bridges, and Teeth In A Day. Some patients want a fixed bridge that stays in place permanently. Others prefer snap-in dentures that clip onto implants and can be removed for cleaning. Both are legitimate choices, and the right one depends on your bone, your budget, your hygiene preferences, and how you want your smile to look and feel day to day.
The most common question we hear is whether there's enough bone left to support implants. When teeth have been missing for a long time, the jaw can lose volume — but that doesn't automatically rule you out. We offer bone grafting and sinus lift surgery to rebuild support in areas that need it, and treatment approaches like All-on-4 are often designed to make use of available bone. The only way to know your situation is an evaluation that includes an exam, imaging, and a conversation about your health history.
Active gum disease is another factor worth addressing honestly. Implants need healthy tissue around them, so if periodontal disease is present we typically treat it first with scaling and root planing, gum disease treatment, or periodontal surgery. Teeth that can't be saved are removed through simple or surgical extraction, and remaining wisdom teeth may be addressed as well. We also evaluate jaw comfort — if you have TMJ symptoms, clicking, or headaches related to your bite, that belongs in the plan from the beginning, not as an afterthought.
What the Experience Is Like at Our Office
Because we have an on-site dental lab, much of the work happens under our own roof rather than being shipped elsewhere and waited on. That lab lets us fabricate and adjust dentures, make same-day crowns, and handle repairs quickly — which matters a great deal during a full mouth case, when fit and comfort are refined over time.
Comfort during treatment is something we plan for deliberately. We offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation for patients who feel anxious about longer appointments or surgical steps. Many people tell us the anticipation was harder than the visit itself.
A few things we'd want you to know going in:
- Treatment is a sequence, not a single appointment — extractions, implant placement, healing, and final teeth each have their own timeline
- Temporary teeth are part of many plans, so you aren't left without a smile while bone heals around the implants
- Your final restoration is shaped and shaded with your face, bite, and preferences in mind through a cosmetic smile-design consultation
- Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris coordinate the surgical and restorative sides so your care stays connected
Caring for Your New Teeth
Implants don't decay, but the gum and bone around them still need attention. Daily brushing, cleaning under a fixed bridge with the tools we show you, and consistent implant maintenance visits are what protect your investment over the long run. Our hygienists use instruments appropriate for implant surfaces and watch tissue health closely at each visit.
Results tend to show up in ordinary moments — eating in a restaurant without planning around the menu, laughing in a photo, waking up without a denture soaking on the counter. We'll also keep an eye on your bite over time and make adjustments as needed, and a night guard may be recommended if you grind.
Paying for Treatment
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practitioner, and we welcome self-pay and cash patients. Coverage for implant care varies widely, so we review your benefits with you in plain terms before treatment begins.
For the portion insurance doesn't cover, we offer flexible payment plans so a full mouth plan can be spread out in a way that works with your household budget. Phasing treatment over time is also an option in many cases.
We've cared for families across Ocala, Belleview, Summerfield, Dunnellon, The Villages, and surrounding Marion County communities for more than 30 years, and we'd be glad to meet you. Call us to schedule a consultation and let's talk about what's possible for your smile.
