Clear Aligners in Summerfield

Crooked front teeth, a bite that's shifted over the years, or crowding that makes flossing a chore — these are the reasons most Summerfield adults start asking about straightening options. And for many, the sticking point isn't the idea of orthodontics. It's the thought of metal brackets at work, at church, or in family photos. Clear aligners solve that problem, and we've been straightening smiles with them as part of the full range of care we've offered in Ocala for more than 30 years.
Clear aligners are a series of thin, transparent trays custom-made to fit your teeth. Each tray is slightly different from the one before it, and wearing them in sequence moves your teeth in small, planned steps until they reach the position mapped out at the start. You wear each set for a period of time, then move to the next one. There are no brackets bonded to your teeth and no wires to tighten.
We provide clear aligners, including Invisalign, for both children and adults. Because we file orthodontic claims as a general practice, Summerfield patients don't need a referral to get started, and we accept orthodontic transfer patients who began treatment elsewhere and need someone closer to home to finish the job. We also make retainers for patients treated by another office — a common request from people who moved to the Summerfield area and lost or broke the retainer from their original provider.
The single biggest draw is appearance. The trays are clear, so most people won't notice you're wearing them during a conversation. The second biggest draw is that they come out. You remove them to eat, which means nothing is off-limits, and you remove them to brush and floss normally instead of threading around wires.
Here's what Summerfield patients tend to appreciate most:
- Removable trays for eating, brushing, and flossing without special tools
- A discreet look for adults who work with the public
- No emergency visits for broken brackets or poking wires
- Straighter teeth that are easier to keep clean, which supports long-term gum health
- Treatment for teens and adults under the same roof as the rest of your family's dental care
That last point matters more than it sounds. Because we're a general practice, your cleanings, exams, fillings, and aligner checks all happen in the same office with the same team. If a small cavity or a gum issue turns up while you're in treatment, we can address it without sending you somewhere else.
Who Is a Good Candidate
Clear aligners work well for crowding, spacing, and many bite concerns, and they suit patients who are motivated to wear the trays consistently. Compliance is the real requirement — aligners only move teeth while they're in your mouth. Teens and adults who can commit to that routine typically do well.
Healthy teeth and gums come first. If you have untreated decay or active gum disease, we'll take care of that before aligners begin. We offer gum disease treatment, scaling and root planing, fillings, and restorative work in-house, so getting ready for orthodontics doesn't mean juggling multiple practices. We'll also talk through whether aligners are the right tool for your situation or whether another approach fits better. If you grind your teeth or have jaw clicking, locking, or jaw-related headaches, we evaluate and treat TMJ disorders as well, and that's worth sorting out before or alongside straightening.
What Treatment Looks Like, Start to Finish
Your first visit is an exam and a conversation. We look at your teeth, bite, and gums, discuss what bothers you and what you want changed, and take the records needed to plan your aligner series. From there, your custom trays are produced and you begin wearing them, switching sets on the schedule we give you.
Check-in appointments let us confirm your teeth are tracking as planned and hand off your next trays. Keep the aligners clean, wear them as directed, and take them out whenever you eat or drink anything other than water. When the series is complete, you move into a retainer. This step is not optional — teeth drift back without one, and the retainer is what protects the result you worked for.
Insurance, Payment, and Getting Started
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file your claims for you. We also welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so the cost can be spread out rather than paid all at once. We'll go over your estimated coverage and options before you commit to anything.
If you live in Summerfield and you've been putting this off, call our Ocala office. We see patients of all ages, we treat emergencies, and we'd be glad to tell you honestly whether clear aligners are a good fit for your smile.
