Full Mouth Rehabilitation in Fort McCoy

Full Mouth Rehabilitation in Fort McCoy

When chewing has become a daily negotiation — avoiding certain foods, favoring one side, worrying that a cracked tooth will finally give way — the problem usually isn't one tooth. It's a whole mouth that has been compensating for years. Full mouth rehabilitation is how we address that systematically, and for our patients in Fort McCoy, it means one practice coordinating every step instead of sending you to a different office for each piece of the puzzle.

Full mouth rehabilitation is a planned, staged rebuilding of the teeth, gums, and bite. Rather than treating problems one at a time as they flare up, we map out the condition of every tooth, the health of the supporting bone and gum tissue, and the way your jaw functions — then sequence the treatment so each phase supports the next. For one person that may mean gum disease treatment followed by crowns and bridges. For another it may mean extractions, bone grafting, and dental implants or implant-supported dentures to restore a full arch.

What makes this different from routine restorative dentistry is the attention to how everything works together. If the bite isn't balanced, new crowns wear unevenly and old symptoms return. That's why jaw function is part of the conversation from the beginning. We treat TMJ disorders, jaw clicking or limited movement, and jaw-related headaches, and those findings shape the restorative plan rather than being treated as a separate issue.

Most of the Fort McCoy patients we see for this type of care fall into a few recognizable situations. Some have lived with long-term gum disease and now have loose or shifting teeth. Others have worn their teeth down from years of grinding, leaving short, chipped edges and a collapsed bite. Many have older crowns, bridges, or partial dentures that have failed repeatedly, or have been missing back teeth long enough that the remaining teeth have drifted.

  • Multiple failing, cracked, or heavily worn teeth
  • Missing teeth in several areas of the mouth
  • Advanced gum disease affecting the support around teeth
  • Dentures that no longer fit, slip, or need frequent repair
  • Jaw pain, clicking, or chronic facial pain alongside dental problems
  • A long gap in dental care, with several issues that have accumulated

You do not need a referral to be evaluated with us. We see patients of all ages and file insurance claims as a general practice, which keeps the paperwork straightforward even when your treatment includes periodontal, surgical, orthodontic, or prosthetic care.

How We Plan and Carry Out Treatment

The process starts with a comprehensive exam: full records, oral cancer screening, an assessment of gum and bone health, and an evaluation of how your jaw moves and where your bite makes contact. From there we build a written plan in phases, with a clear explanation of what each phase accomplishes and why it comes when it does. You'll know what's happening first, what can wait, and what the finished result is meant to look like.

Phase one is usually stabilization — treating active gum disease with scaling and root planing or periodontal therapy, resolving infection with root canal therapy, and removing teeth that cannot be saved. Surgical steps such as bone grafting, sinus lift surgery, or crown lengthening prepare the foundation when implants or crowns are planned. Phase two is reconstruction: implants, implant-supported bridges or dentures, crowns, onlays, veneers, or conventional complete and partial dentures. For patients who want straighter teeth as part of the rebuild, Invisalign and clear aligners can be worked into the sequence.

Our on-site dental lab matters a great deal here. Crowns, dentures, and denture repairs can be made and adjusted in-house, which shortens turnaround and lets us refine fit, shade, and bite while you're in the chair. For Fort McCoy patients driving in, fewer appointments and fewer waiting periods is a real practical benefit. We also offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation for longer or more involved visits, and we keep emergency appointments available if something breaks mid-treatment.

Aftercare, Cost, and Getting Started

A rebuilt mouth needs ongoing maintenance. We schedule periodontal maintenance and cleanings with our hygienist, monitor implants with implant maintenance visits, and provide night guards for patients who grind — protecting the work you've invested in. Small adjustments in the first months are normal and part of the process.

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and welcome self-pay patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so care can be phased to fit a budget. Ocala Dental Care has served this region for over 30 years, and Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris are glad to review your options with you before you commit to anything.
