Snap In Dentures in Belleview

A denture that slips when you bite into a sandwich is not something you have to live with. Snap in dentures solve that problem mechanically: instead of resting on your gums and relying on suction or adhesive, the denture locks onto dental implants placed in your jawbone. You press it into place until it clicks, and it stays put until you remove it. For our Belleview patients who have spent years adjusting, re-gluing, and avoiding certain foods, that single change tends to make the biggest difference in daily life.
Snap in dentures, also called implant-supported or overdentures, use a small number of implants as anchor points. Each implant has an attachment on top, and the underside of the denture has matching housings. The two snap together. The denture is still removable — you take it out at night and for cleaning — but while it is in, it is held by the implants rather than by your gum ridge alone.
This matters because the lower jaw rarely offers enough surface area for a traditional denture to hold well. Lower dentures are the ones patients complain about most, and they are often the first arch we stabilize. Upper snap in dentures can frequently be made without covering the full palate, which means you taste food and feel temperature more normally. We also provide conventional complete and partial dentures, fixed implant-supported bridges, and full arch implant options, so the snap in route is one choice among several rather than the only answer we offer.
Belleview patients come to our Ocala office for the full arc of this treatment — consultation, surgery, lab work, delivery, and long-term maintenance — without being sent to a separate specialist across town. We place dental implants in-house and we handle the prosthetic side in-house as well, which keeps the number of trips down for anyone driving in from Belleview.
Our on-site dental lab is a practical advantage here. Denture adjustments, relines, and repairs that often take a week or more at other offices can frequently be handled far faster when the lab is in the same building. If an attachment wears or a denture cracks, we are not shipping it out and leaving you without teeth. We have practiced general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry in this area for over 30 years, and we see patients of all ages, including families where one member is in for implants and another is in for a cleaning.
Who Is a Good Candidate
Snap in dentures suit people missing all or most of the teeth in an arch, as well as people who already wear a full denture and are tired of its movement. You need enough jawbone to hold implants. If bone has receded after years of tooth loss, we offer bone grafting and sinus lift surgery to rebuild the site first.
Healthy gums matter too. Active gum disease is treated before implants go in, and we provide scaling and root planing, gum disease treatment, and periodontal surgery as needed. If teeth still need to come out, we perform both simple and surgical extractions. For patients who feel uneasy about any of this, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation dentistry.
- No referral needed — you can schedule directly with us
- Fewer food restrictions than with adhesive-dependent dentures
- Removable for cleaning, so hygiene stays straightforward
- Implants help preserve the bone that supports your face
- Upper designs can often avoid full palate coverage
- Repairs and relines handled by our own lab
The Process and Aftercare
Treatment begins with an exam and imaging to assess bone, gum health, and your bite, plus a discussion of what you want from the result. If preparatory work is needed — extractions, grafting, gum treatment — that comes first. Implants are then placed and given time to integrate with the bone. During healing, you are not without teeth; we provide an interim denture.
Once healing is complete, we attach the connectors, take impressions, and our lab fabricates your denture. We test fit, adjust the bite, and snap it in. Aftercare is simple but not optional: remove and clean the denture daily, brush around each implant, and keep regular visits for periodontal maintenance and implant maintenance. The nylon retention inserts inside the denture wear over time and are replaced periodically — that is routine, not a failure.
Insurance, Payment, and Scheduling
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practitioner, which is often simpler for implant and prosthetic coverage. We welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so treatment can be spread out.
We also keep emergency appointments available, including same-day slots, for broken dentures or sudden tooth pain. Belleview patients are welcome to call and schedule a consultation directly.
