Full Mouth Reconstruction in Ocala

Full Mouth Reconstruction in Ocala

When several teeth are worn down, broken, missing, or aching at the same time, fixing one problem at a time rarely gets you back to comfortable chewing. A cracked molar changes how you bite, which stresses the teeth on the other side, which wears enamel and strains the jaw joints. Full mouth reconstruction steps back and treats the whole system — teeth, gums, bite, and jaw — as one connected plan. In our Ocala office, that plan is built around what you actually need, in a sequence that makes sense for your health, your schedule, and your budget.

Full mouth reconstruction is a coordinated series of restorative and, when appropriate, cosmetic treatments that rebuild all or most of the mouth. It is not a single procedure. One person's plan might combine crowns, onlays, and composite bonding to restore worn teeth. Another's might involve gum disease treatment and scaling and root planing first, then bridges or dental implants to replace missing teeth. A third may need root canal therapy to save compromised teeth, extractions for those that cannot be saved, and bone grafting or sinus lift surgery to prepare the jaw for implants.

Because we provide general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry under one roof, the pieces connect without sending you across town. Our team handles root canal therapy on molars, premolars, and front teeth, surgical and simple extractions, periodontal surgery, implant placement, and prosthetics including implant-supported bridges, implant-supported dentures, All-on-4 dental implants, and full arch dental implants. We also address the jaw side of the equation with TMJ/TMD therapy and night guards when clenching or grinding has contributed to the damage.

Most people who pursue full mouth rehabilitation have been managing dental problems for years. Common situations include advanced wear from grinding, multiple failing fillings or crowns, tooth loss that has shifted the remaining teeth, long-standing gum disease, or trauma and decay that affected several teeth at once. If chewing is uncomfortable, if you avoid certain foods, or if you are unhappy with both the function and appearance of your smile, you are likely a candidate for an evaluation.

Age is not a barrier. We see patients of all ages, and we accept new patients without a referral for endodontic, periodontal, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and orofacial pain care. Ocala patients often come to us after piecemeal treatment elsewhere; transferring care is straightforward, and we are glad to review what has already been done and build from there.

What the Process Looks Like

It starts with a thorough dental exam, including oral cancer screening, an assessment of your gums, and an evaluation of how your teeth come together. If headaches, jaw clicking, locking, or limited jaw movement are part of the picture, we evaluate that too, because a bite rebuilt on an unstable joint will not hold up.

From there, we map out phases. Here is what patients can generally expect:

  • Stabilization — treating decay, infection, and gum disease so the foundation is healthy
  • Preparation — extractions, bone grafting, or crown lengthening where needed
  • Rebuilding — crowns, bridges, veneers, implants, or dentures to restore function and appearance
  • Refinement — adjusting the bite, and clear aligners or Invisalign if tooth position needs correcting
  • Maintenance — cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and implant maintenance on an ongoing schedule

Our on-site dental lab is a real advantage during a long case. Same-day crowns, dentures, and denture repairs mean fewer trips and shorter gaps between appointments. For patients who feel anxious, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation, and we can often combine procedures into longer visits to reduce the total number of appointments.

Aftercare and Keeping Your Results

Once the rebuilding is finished, protecting the work matters as much as the work itself. We review brushing and flossing around crowns, bridges, and implants, and our hygienists set a cleaning interval that fits your gum health — often more frequent than standard for patients with a history of periodontal disease. If grinding played a role in the original damage, a custom night guard is typically part of the plan.

We stay available if something goes wrong. We offer emergency dental appointments, including same-day emergency care, so an Ocala patient with a loose crown or a sudden ache is not left waiting.

Insurance, Payment, and Getting Started

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practice. We also welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so a larger reconstruction can be spread out over time. Many plans cover portions of restorative care, and we will walk through estimated benefits with you before treatment begins.

Ocala Dental Care has served Ocala for more than 30 years, and Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris see patients from throughout Marion County and the surrounding communities. If you are ready to stop treating problems one at a time, we would be glad to talk through your options.
