All-on-X Dental Implants in Summerfield

Maybe your lower denture has never stayed put, and you've started avoiding dinners out with friends. Or a failing bridge finally gave way, and the thought of another temporary fix feels exhausting. We hear versions of this story every week from Summerfield patients — people who are tired of adhesives, tired of broken teeth, and ready for something that feels settled. Full arch implant treatment, often called All-on-X, was designed for exactly that moment, and we offer the All-on-4 approach right here at our Ocala office.
All-on-X is a method of replacing an entire arch of teeth — upper, lower, or both — with a fixed bridge anchored to dental implants placed in the jawbone. The "X" simply refers to the number of implants used, which varies by patient. The All-on-4 technique we provide uses four strategically placed implants per arch, angled to take advantage of available bone, to support a full set of replacement teeth.
The difference from a conventional denture is significant. Rather than resting on the gums and relying on suction or paste, the new teeth are secured to implants that integrate with the bone. That stability changes how you eat, speak, and smile. It also means the bridge doesn't need to cover the roof of your mouth the way a traditional upper denture often does, so food tastes more like food.
For Summerfield patients, the appeal is often practical as well. Rather than coordinating care across several offices, you can have your consultation, surgery, lab work, and follow-up handled by one team. We place dental implants in-house, provide implant-supported bridges and implant-supported dentures, and maintain an on-site dental lab — a real advantage when adjustments or repairs are needed.
Good candidates are usually people missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, or facing the loss of remaining teeth because of advanced decay or gum disease. We also see Summerfield patients who have worn complete or partial dentures for years and are simply done with the limitations. Others come in after a long stretch without dental care, needing a full mouth rehabilitation plan rather than one more patch.
Jawbone volume matters, and that's part of what we evaluate. The angled placement used in All-on-4 is often chosen specifically because it works with existing bone. When additional support is needed, we offer bone grafting and sinus lift surgery. Active gum disease is addressed first through scaling and root planing, periodontal treatment, or periodontal surgery, so implants are placed in a healthy environment.
Reasons Summerfield patients tell us they pursue full arch implants include:
- Dentures that slip, click, or cause sore spots
- Difficulty chewing foods they used to enjoy
- Embarrassment about speaking or smiling in public
- Multiple failing teeth that would each need separate treatment
- Wanting a solution that stays in the mouth rather than coming out at night
What the Process Looks Like
We start with a consultation and exam, including imaging, an oral cancer screening, and a discussion of your medical history and goals. This is also where we talk honestly about options — for some patients, snap-in dentures or conventional complete dentures remain the better fit, and we'll say so.
Treatment day typically involves removing any remaining teeth in the arch with simple or surgical extraction, placing the implants, and attaching a provisional set of teeth. This Teeth in a Day approach means most patients leave with a full smile rather than an empty mouth. Our on-site lab supports this workflow directly. For comfort, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation dentistry, and we'll discuss which is appropriate for you beforehand.
Healing takes several months while the implants integrate with bone. During that time we see you for checks and adjustments. Once healing is complete, the final bridge is fabricated and secured.
Aftercare, Insurance, and Getting Started
Implants don't decay, but the gum and bone around them still need care. We provide implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance visits, with a dental hygienist on staff to keep tissue healthy and catch issues early. At home, daily cleaning under the bridge matters, and we'll show you exactly how. If you grind your teeth, we can make a night guard to protect your investment.
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and welcome self-pay patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so cost can be spread out. Our team will review what your plan may cover before treatment begins.
Ocala Dental Care has served this area for over 30 years, and Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris welcome Summerfield patients — no referral needed. If you'd like to know whether All-on-4 is right for you, we'd be glad to take a look.
