Tooth Replacement in Reddick

Tooth Replacement in Reddick

A cracked molar that finally gives out, a front tooth lost in a fall, a partial denture that no longer fits — these are the moments that bring Reddick patients to our chairs. Losing a tooth changes more than your smile. It changes how you chew a steak, how you pronounce certain words, and how confidently you speak at a church supper or a family gathering. We have spent more than 30 years helping people in and around Marion County rebuild what they have lost, and we take the time to explain every option before anything is decided.

Tooth replacement is the process of restoring one or more missing teeth with a permanent or removable restoration that takes over the job the natural tooth used to do. There is no single right answer. Some Reddick patients need one dental implant to fill a single gap. Others need a bridge anchored to neighboring teeth, a partial denture to replace several teeth scattered across an arch, or complete dentures when an entire arch is gone. For patients missing most or all of their teeth, we also provide implant-supported dentures, implant-supported bridges, All-on-4 dental implants, and full arch and full mouth dental implants.

Replacing a missing tooth is not only cosmetic. The teeth on either side of a gap tend to drift, the opposing tooth can over-erupt, and the jawbone in that area loses stimulation over time. Chewing shifts to one side, which can strain the jaw joints. Because we also treat TMJ disorders and chronic facial pain, we look at how a missing tooth is affecting your bite as a whole, not just the empty space.

Most people who have lost a tooth are candidates for something, even if their first choice is not immediately possible. During your first visit we complete a dental exam, review your medical history, and look carefully at the health of your gums and the surrounding bone. Gum disease is a common reason a tooth was lost in the first place, so we may recommend scaling and root planing or other gum disease treatment before building anything new.

If bone volume is thin, that does not end the conversation. We perform bone grafting and sinus lift surgery to create a stable foundation for implants. If a damaged tooth is still in place, we handle simple and surgical extractions ourselves, as well as wisdom teeth removal. Patients who prefer a removable solution, or who want to avoid surgery, are good candidates for conventional partials, complete dentures, or snap-in dentures. We see all ages, adults and children alike, and you do not need a referral to be seen.

  • A thorough exam and discussion of every option that fits your mouth, health, and budget
  • Treatment of any gum or bone problems before final restorations are made
  • Extractions, bone grafting, or sinus lift surgery when needed to prepare the site
  • Implant placement, bridge preparation, or denture impressions, depending on your plan
  • Follow-up visits to check fit, bite, and comfort, plus long-term implant maintenance

What the Process Looks Like

For a dental implant, we place a post in the jawbone that acts as an artificial root, allow healing time, then attach a custom crown. For a bridge, we shape the neighboring teeth and seat a restoration that spans the gap. For dentures, we take impressions, try in the design, and refine the fit. Our on-site dental lab is a real advantage here — it allows same-day crowns, dentures, and denture repairs, which means fewer trips down from Reddick and less time waiting on an outside lab.

Comfort matters throughout. We offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation dentistry for patients who feel anxious about surgical steps. We also keep room in the schedule for emergency dental appointments, so if a tooth breaks or a denture cracks, you are not left waiting weeks.

Aftercare, Insurance, and Getting Started

Healing instructions depend on the treatment, but the pattern is similar: soft foods early on, gentle cleaning around the site, and keeping scheduled follow-ups so we can confirm everything is settling correctly. Implants need lifelong care much like natural teeth, and we provide implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance with our hygienist to protect your investment. Dentures occasionally need adjustment or repair, and we handle both in-house.

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practice, which simplifies coverage across surgical and restorative steps. We also welcome self-pay patients and offer flexible payment plans. Reddick patients are always welcome to call our Ocala office and schedule a consultation with Dr. Hussein Salifu or Dr. Marco Geris.
