Full Mouth Dental Implants in McIntosh

Full Mouth Dental Implants in McIntosh

If you've been avoiding meals you used to love, hiding your smile in photos, or struggling with dentures that slip at the worst moments, you're facing a problem that patches and quick fixes rarely solve. Many of our McIntosh patients come to us after years of one failing tooth after another — a cracked molar here, a loose bridge there — and what they really want is a plan that addresses the whole mouth at once. Full mouth dental implants do exactly that, rebuilding an entire arch, or both arches, on a foundation that stays put.

Full mouth dental implants replace a complete set of missing or failing teeth using titanium posts placed into the jawbone. Those posts act like tooth roots. Once healed, they support a fixed bridge or an implant-supported denture that doesn't rely on adhesive or suction to stay in place. Depending on your needs, this may take the form of All-on-4 dental implants, a full arch fixed bridge, or implant-supported dentures that you can remove for cleaning.

The difference from traditional dentures is structural. A conventional denture rests on the gums, so chewing force presses against soft tissue and the bone underneath gradually changes shape. Implants transmit that force into the jawbone instead, the way natural roots do. For patients in McIntosh who have worn dentures for years and noticed a looser fit over time, this is often the central reason they ask us about implants in the first place.

Candidacy begins with a conversation and a thorough exam. We look at how much bone is available, the condition of your gums, any remaining teeth, and your overall health and habits. Advanced gum disease, long-standing missing teeth, or a history of extractions can all reduce bone volume — but that doesn't automatically rule you out. Bone grafting and sinus lift surgery are both available here, and either can create the support needed for implant placement.

Because we provide general dentistry, periodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics under one roof, McIntosh patients don't have to assemble a care team themselves. We place the implants, treat gum disease when it's present, handle simple and surgical extractions, and design and deliver the final teeth. We also accept patients without a referral, so you can start the process by calling us directly.

Full mouth implants tend to be the right conversation when:

  • Most or all teeth in an arch are missing, broken down, or unsalvageable
  • Existing dentures move, rub, or make eating certain foods difficult
  • Gum disease has loosened teeth beyond what treatment alone can save
  • Repeated crowns, bridges, or repairs keep failing in the same mouth
  • You want a solution you don't take out at night

What the Process Looks Like

The first visit is diagnostic: a full exam, imaging, and a discussion of what you want your smile and your bite to do. From there we map out a sequence. If teeth need to come out, that's scheduled. If grafting is needed, it's done and given time to integrate. Then implants are placed at the planned positions in the arch.

Our on-site dental lab shapes much of how we work. Having lab capability in the building means crowns, dentures, and denture repairs can often be handled same-day, and it keeps communication about shade, shape, and fit immediate rather than mailed back and forth. For some patients this supports a Teeth In A Day approach, where a temporary set of teeth is placed at the same appointment as the implants. For comfort during surgical visits, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation.

After placement, healing takes time while bone integrates with the implants. We'll give you specific instructions on eating, cleaning, and what to watch for, and we'll see you for follow-ups. Once healing is complete, the final restoration is fitted and adjusted until the bite feels right.

Aftercare, Cost, and Getting Started

Implants don't decay, but the gum and bone around them still need care. We provide implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance visits, and our hygienist will show you how to clean around a fixed bridge or implant-supported denture at home. Keeping those appointments is the single most important thing you can do to protect the investment.

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and self-pay patients, and we offer flexible payment plans so treatment can be spread out over time. We'll walk you through the full plan and the numbers before anything begins.

Our practice has served Ocala and surrounding communities, including McIntosh, for over 30 years. Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris would be glad to talk through your options — and if you're in pain now, we offer emergency appointments.
