Full Mouth Reconstruction in Lady Lake

Full Mouth Reconstruction in Lady Lake

When chewing becomes uncomfortable, teeth keep chipping or cracking, or a smile has been patched together over decades of separate repairs, the problem usually isn't one tooth — it's the whole system. Full mouth reconstruction treats the mouth as a connected unit: teeth, gums, bite, and jaw joints together. For patients coming to us from Lady Lake, that comprehensive approach often replaces years of piecemeal appointments with one coordinated plan and a clear finish line.

Full mouth reconstruction is a planned sequence of restorative, periodontal, and sometimes surgical treatments designed to rebuild function and appearance across the upper and lower arches. It isn't a single procedure with a fixed recipe. One Lady Lake patient may need gum disease treatment, bone grafting, and implants. Another may need root canal therapy on a few salvageable teeth, crowns, onlays, and new porcelain restorations to restore worn-down bite height. A third may be best served by full arch dental implants or implant-supported dentures.

Because our practice provides general, restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, periodontal, prosthodontic, orthodontic, oral surgery, and orofacial pain care under one roof, most of what a reconstruction requires can be handled by our team rather than scattered across multiple offices. We file insurance claims as a general practitioner across these areas, and we accept patients without a referral. We also have an on-site dental lab, which allows same-day crowns, dentures, and denture repairs — a real convenience when you're driving in from Lady Lake and would rather not make an extra trip for a lab adjustment.

People reach this point along different paths. Some have advanced gum disease that has loosened teeth and changed how the bite fits together. Some have worn their teeth flat from years of grinding, shortening the lower face and straining the jaw joints. Others have lost several teeth over time, shifted the remaining ones, and now struggle to chew comfortably on either side. Trauma, multiple failing older crowns and fillings, and severe decay are also common starting points.

Jaw symptoms frequently travel with these problems. We treat TMJ disorders, jaw clicking, locking or limited movement, jaw-related headaches, and chronic facial pain, so if your bite is part of what's causing discomfort, that gets evaluated rather than ignored. Good candidates are generally adults in reasonable health who want a durable, long-term result and are willing to commit to a staged plan. If you're not ready for full reconstruction, we'll tell you what a smaller, targeted treatment could accomplish instead.

What the Process Looks Like

We start with a thorough exam: full records, an oral cancer screening, a look at your gum health, an assessment of how your teeth meet, and a conversation about what bothers you most. From there we build a written plan with a logical order — stabilize first, rebuild second, refine last.

A typical sequence might include some of the following, depending on your needs:

  • Disease control — scaling and root planing, gum disease treatment, periodontal surgery, or root canal therapy to save teeth worth keeping
  • Surgical groundwork — simple or surgical extractions, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, sinus lift surgery, or crown lengthening
  • Tooth replacement — dental implants, implant-supported bridges, All-on-4 or full arch implants, complete or partial dentures, or implant-supported dentures
  • Restoration and esthetics — crowns, bridges, onlays, porcelain or composite veneers, bonding, gum contouring, and in-office or take-home whitening where appropriate
  • Bite and comfort — TMJ/TMD therapy, night guards, and clear aligners or Invisalign when teeth need repositioning before final restorations

Comfort matters throughout. We offer nitrous oxide sedation and oral sedation for patients who need it, and we keep room for emergency appointments if something breaks or flares up mid-treatment.

Aftercare and Keeping the Result

A rebuilt mouth needs maintenance, and that's where many long-term results are won or lost. Our hygienists provide cleanings and periodontal maintenance on a schedule suited to your gum health, and we provide implant maintenance for patients with implants or implant-supported prosthetics. Night guards protect new restorations from grinding, and we'll check your bite at recall visits so small changes get adjusted before they cause damage.

We also repair and replace existing dentures, so patients who have had work done elsewhere can transition their ongoing care to us.
