Benefits of Dental Implants

Replace Missing Teeth

Implants fill the gaps left by missing teeth so you can bite, chew, and speak comfortably again.

Care Under One Roof

We place implants and restore them here, including bone grafting and sinus lift surgery when they're needed.

On-Site Dental Lab

Our in-house lab lets us craft and adjust your restoration without long waits for an outside lab.

Options For Every Smile

From a single implant to implant-supported bridges, dentures, and full arch solutions, we tailor the plan to you.

Flexible Ways To Pay

We accept all major PPO plans and self-pay patients, and we offer flexible payment plans.

A cracked molar that finally gave out. A front tooth lost years ago to an injury, hidden ever since in photos. A lower denture that slides when you talk. These are the moments that bring people to our Ocala office asking about implants — not because they want a dental procedure, but because they want to chew a steak, laugh without covering their mouth, and stop thinking about their teeth all day. Dental implants are our most complete answer to a missing tooth, and after more than 30 years of caring for families in Marion County, we've seen how much steadier daily life feels once a gap is closed for good.

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. It's a small post placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over a period of healing and becomes a stable foundation. On top of that post, we attach a crown — or, in larger cases, a bridge or a denture — so the finished result looks and functions like a natural tooth. Unlike a removable appliance, an implant stands on its own and doesn't rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Because implants anchor into bone, they also help preserve the shape of the jaw in that area, which is one of the reasons we often recommend them over other forms of tooth replacement. The approach scales to almost any situation. A single implant and crown can fill one gap. Implant-supported bridges can span several missing teeth in a row. For patients who've lost most or all of a dental arch, All-on-4 dental implants, full arch and full mouth dental implants, implant-supported dentures, and snap-in dentures offer a secure alternative to a denture that rocks or rubs. We also provide Teeth in a Day for qualifying cases, where a temporary set of teeth is delivered at the time of placement so no one leaves without a smile.

Most healthy adults missing one or more teeth are reasonable candidates, but the evaluation matters more than the label. We begin with a thorough exam and imaging to look at bone volume, gum health, bite forces, and the position of nearby structures such as the sinuses. If gum disease is present, we treat it first with scaling and root planing, periodontal therapy, or gum grafting, because implants need healthy tissue around them just as natural teeth do.

Not having enough bone is common, and it rarely ends the conversation. Bone grafting can rebuild a thinned ridge, and sinus lift surgery can create room in the upper back jaw where bone height is limited. If a failing tooth is still in place, we handle the extraction — simple or surgical — and plan the site for a future implant at the same visit. Patients who grind or clench may need TMJ therapy or a night guard to protect the investment. We place implants here in our own office and accept patients without a referral, so the planning, surgery, restoration, and long-term implant maintenance all stay under one roof with Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris.

Healing, Aftercare, and Keeping Implants Healthy

Healing is usually more comfortable than people expect. Mild soreness and swelling for a few days is typical, managed with soft foods, cold compresses, and the instructions we send home with you. The post then needs time to integrate with the bone before the final restoration is attached. Our on-site dental lab is a real advantage during this stage — crowns, dentures, and repairs are made here, so adjustments happen quickly instead of waiting on an outside lab.

Long-term care is refreshingly ordinary. Implants can't decay, but the gum and bone around them can become inflamed if plaque builds up, so brushing, cleaning between the teeth, and regular visits with our hygienist are essential. We provide periodontal maintenance and implant maintenance tailored to what you have in your mouth.

  • Brush twice daily and clean around the implant as we demonstrate
  • Keep your scheduled cleanings and exams so we can check the implant, the bite, and surrounding bone
  • Wear a night guard if you grind, and avoid chewing ice or hard objects
  • Call us promptly about soreness, looseness, or bleeding gums — we offer emergency appointments

Cost, Insurance, and Getting Started

Implant treatment is built in stages, and the total depends on how many teeth are involved and whether grafting is needed. We review everything with you beforehand so there are no surprises. We accept all major PPO insurance plans, welcome self-pay patients, and offer flexible payment plans to spread treatment over time. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are available for anxious patients.

We'd be glad to see whether implants are right for you. Call Ocala Dental Care to schedule a consultation — we care for patients from Ocala, Belleview, Silver Springs, Summerfield, The Villages, Dunnellon, and across the surrounding communities.
