Tooth Replacement in The Villages

A cracked molar that finally gives out mid-meal. A partial denture that no longer sits right after years of wear. A gap from an extraction years ago that has quietly started shifting the neighboring teeth. These are the moments that bring people from The Villages into our office, and they all share the same question: what are my options for filling that space, and which one is right for me?
Tooth replacement is the umbrella term for restoring one, several, or all missing teeth so you can chew, speak, and smile comfortably again. It covers a range of solutions, and the right choice depends on how many teeth are missing, the condition of your jawbone and gums, and what you want day-to-day life to feel like. For a single gap, that might be a dental implant topped with a crown, or a traditional bridge anchored to the teeth on either side. For several missing teeth in a row, an implant-supported bridge can restore the span without relying on natural teeth for support.
When most or all of an arch is gone, the conversation widens. Conventional complete and partial dentures remain a practical, time-tested answer. Many patients prefer the added stability of implant-supported dentures, snap-in dentures, or full arch options like All-on-4 and Teeth in a Day, which anchor the prosthesis to implants placed in the jaw. We also perform full mouth reconstruction and full mouth rehabilitation when teeth need to be addressed comprehensively rather than one at a time.
Most adults missing one or more teeth are candidates for some form of replacement — the question is usually which form. Healthy gums and adequate bone volume matter most for implants, which is why we evaluate both before recommending a plan. If bone has resorbed after a long-standing extraction, bone grafting or sinus lift surgery can rebuild the foundation so implants become possible. If gum disease is present, we treat it first with scaling and root planing, periodontal therapy, or gum grafting, because a stable foundation protects whatever we place on top of it.
Some patients come to us having been told elsewhere that they needed a referral to see a specialist. We accept patients without a referral for implant placement, oral surgery, and prosthodontic care, which keeps the process simpler for people traveling in from The Villages. We also see patients of all ages and handle extractions, including surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal, so a tooth that cannot be saved and its replacement can be coordinated under one roof.
What the Process Looks Like
Your first visit is an examination and conversation. We review your medical and dental history, evaluate the bone and gum tissue, and talk through realistic options, including what each one involves in terms of appointments and healing time. Cosmetic smile-design consultations are available if appearance is a priority alongside function.
From there, treatment follows a sequence tailored to you. Here is what patients can generally expect:
- A thorough exam and discussion of implant, bridge, and denture options
- Any preparatory care needed first — extraction, gum disease treatment, bone grafting, or sinus lift surgery
- Placement of implants or preparation of supporting teeth, with nitrous oxide or oral sedation available for comfort
- Fabrication of your crown, bridge, or denture in our on-site dental lab
- Fitting, adjustment, and a follow-up plan to keep everything comfortable
Our on-site lab is a meaningful convenience for patients driving in from The Villages. Because we make crowns, dentures, and denture repairs here, we can often shorten turnaround times and handle adjustments without sending work out and scheduling you back weeks later.
Caring for Your New Teeth
Replacement teeth last longest when the tissue around them stays healthy. We provide implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance visits, and our hygienist will show you how to clean around implants, bridges, and partials effectively. Dentures need regular checks too, since the jaw changes shape over time — we repair and replace existing dentures, including those made elsewhere.
If you grind or clench, we can make a night guard to protect your restorations, and we offer TMJ therapy if jaw pain or limited movement is part of the picture. Should something chip, loosen, or break, we offer emergency appointments rather than leaving you waiting.
Insurance, Payment, and Getting Started
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and file claims as a general practice, which simplifies paperwork across implant, surgical, and prosthodontic care. Self-pay and cash patients are welcome, and flexible payment plans are available so treatment can be phased in a way that fits your budget.
Ocala Dental Care has served this region for over 30 years, and Dr. Hussein Salifu and Dr. Marco Geris welcome patients from The Villages, Lady Lake, Oxford, Summerfield, and the surrounding communities. Call us to schedule an evaluation and find out which tooth replacement option makes the most sense for you.
