Dentures in The Villages

Dentures in The Villages

Missing teeth change more than a smile — they change how you chew a steak, how clearly you speak on the phone, and how comfortable you feel laughing with friends. For many of our patients from The Villages, that's the real reason they call us: they want to eat, speak, and smile without thinking about it. Dentures remain one of the most practical, time-tested ways to get that back, and with our on-site dental lab, we're able to handle fabrication, adjustments, and repairs right here rather than sending your case away and making you wait.

A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and the supporting tissue around them. We provide both conventional complete and partial dentures, and the right choice depends on how many natural teeth you still have and what condition they're in.

Complete dentures replace a full arch — upper, lower, or both — when no natural teeth remain in that arch. They rest on the gum tissue and are shaped to restore the natural contours of your lips and cheeks, which is often why people say their face looks fuller again. Partial dentures are for patients who still have healthy natural teeth. The partial fills the gaps and clasps onto remaining teeth for stability, which also helps keep those teeth from drifting into open spaces over time. Where helpful, we'll compare the two directly during your consultation: a partial preserves what you already have and is often simpler to adapt to, while a complete denture becomes the right answer when remaining teeth are failing and retaining them would only create recurring problems.

We also offer implant-supported dentures and snap-in dentures for patients who want more retention, along with full arch and All-on-4 dental implant options. If you're weighing removable versus implant-anchored, we'll walk you through the tradeoffs honestly rather than steering you toward one path.

Most denture candidates fall into a few familiar situations. Some have lived with a failing bridge or several extractions over the years. Some have advanced gum disease and know their teeth won't last. Others already wear a denture made somewhere else that no longer fits, clicks when they talk, or has cracked — and we repair and replace existing dentures regularly.

Good candidacy depends on your gum and bone health, which we evaluate with a full exam. If gum disease is present, we treat it first with scaling and root planing or other periodontal care so your denture sits on a healthy foundation. If teeth need to come out, we handle simple and surgical extractions in-house, and nitrous oxide or oral sedation is available for patients who feel anxious about that step. For patients considering implant support later, bone grafting and sinus lift surgery can be part of the plan.

Here's what The Villages patients tell us matters most:

  • One office for exams, extractions, gum treatment, and the denture itself
  • An on-site lab for faster turnaround on dentures, relines, and repairs
  • Appointments available for all ages, including emergency visits
  • No referral needed for prosthodontic, periodontal, or surgical care
  • A clear conversation about cost and payment before treatment begins

The Process and What Aftercare Looks Like

We start with an exam, X-rays as needed, and a conversation about what you want to be able to eat and how you want your smile to look. From there we take impressions and records of your bite. Our lab fabricates the denture, and you'll return for try-ins so we can check fit, bite, and appearance before anything is finalized — this is the stage where we adjust tooth shade, shape, and position.

After delivery, expect a short adjustment period. Sore spots are normal early on and are easily relieved with a quick adjustment visit, so please call rather than tolerating discomfort. Clean your denture daily with a brush and denture cleaner, store it in water overnight, and keep brushing your gums and any remaining teeth. Gums and bone change shape over the years, so periodic relines and checkups keep the fit secure. We also provide denture repairs, and because the lab is on-site, many repairs don't require long waits.
